News and Facts:
Changes in the Pet Owner Landscape
Pet ownership is at an all-time high, with 66% of U.S. households owning at least one pet. The global pet care market is estimated to grow from $246 billion in 2023 to $368 billion by 2030 (Source: Forbes.com). This rise in pet ownership reflects increases in the recognition of pets as family members, the awareness of the mental health benefits of pets, the changes in human demographics, and the new work arrangements that afford greater bonding time with pets.
Kitten and Puppy Birth Rates
Each day in the United States,70,000 puppies and kittens are born. As long as these high birth rates continue, there will never be enough homes for all of them.. As a result, 4 to 6 million animals are euthanized every year due to the shortage of homes.
