Our Vision
To become a leader in supporting people and pets through the education of owners and veterinary professionals, enhancing pet health and care, sponsoring community projects, advancing research that betters the lives of humans and animals, and providing financial support to other charitable organizations aligned with our vision and our values.
Programs
The Elaine and Howard Mitchell Charitable Foundation will create and support a variety of programs aligned with our vision. Some of these programs will be created by our foundation, and others will be supported through joint ventures or contributions to existing charities. Examples of these programs are:
- Educational programs for pet owners about pet health and safety
- Low- or no-cost spay and neuter clinics
- Programs to provide comprehensive animal care for pet owners in need of financial support
- Programs to create and assist shelters for pet rescue, medical care, and adoption
- Animal hospice care programs
- Scholarships and grants for veterinary medical research
- Veterinary education and service scholarships
- Veterinary and veterinary technician internships
The Elaine and Howard Mitchell Charitable Foundation promotes making comprehensive pet care available to all families and supports shelters and rescue groups with adoptions, sterilizations, and medical care. Through educational programs we want to advance veterinary medicine, responsible pet care, and inform about pet end of life and hospice options.
